2" Square Tension Band 20 Pack
The American Fence Company
While chain link fabric is very strong, it cannot effectively protect your property without something to attach it to the frame of your fence. 2" Square Tension Bands are a special fitting used to attach chain link fabric to end posts, corner posts, and gate posts. Because of the square shape, they are ideal for attaching fabric to ornamental style fence posts. When combined with a tension rod, this tension band is perfect for tightening chain link material and for securing barb wire, truss rod tighteners, rail caps and much more.
These tension bands are made of galvanized steel, meaning they're also resistant to rust and corrosion—thus boosting the strength and longevity of your chain link fence. Attachment requires carriage nuts and bolts (sold separately). Each pack comes with 20 square tension bands.
- Made for 2” posts
- Requires a carriage nut and bolt (not included, item #11170)

How the part fits? 2”square tension band is designed to fit around a 2-1/2” square terminal post.
Where is it installed? 2” square tension band is installed by sliding over the 2” square terminal post once the post is set. Tension bands will be evenly placed on each terminal post.
How many do you need? You will need 2” tension bands for every stretch of fence. The amount of tension bands you will need per square terminal post is 1 less than the height of the fence. For example, if you have a 4’ fence you will need (3) 2” square tension bands per terminal post. There are two exceptions, if you have a 3’ or 3-1/2’ fence, you will need (3) 2” square tension bands. For a full stretch of fence from terminal post to terminal post, you will need double the amount. Ex: For a stretch 4’ fence you will need (6) total 2” square tension bands.
2" post size, .15lbs
A 2” square tension band is installed by sliding it over the 2” square terminal post once the post is set. You will need to space the 2” square tension bands evenly on the square terminal post. Then you will slide the 5/16” x 1-1/4” bolt through the tangs and tighten the nut.
