Steel Line Rail Clamps are integral when building cyclone fencing—which includes sports fences, greenhouses, dog kennels, practically any kind of chain link barrier that involves mid and bottom bracing. For building such fences, you need a fitting capable of connecting two separate pieces of rail to the same post. This component also needs to be sturdy, long lasting, and resilient to rust. (After all, most sports fences are exposed to the elements 24/7.)
The 1-3/8" x 1-3/8" Steel Line Rail Clamp is a reliably strong chain link fence component, and very easy to install. Made of two separate pieces of steel, the central "gap" in the clamp is what's used to grip onto a fence post. Secure the two pieces together—and to the post—using carriage nuts and bolts (sold separately). The two line rails you wish to attach are then held in place by the clamp's "arms." When the rails are attached, you have what resembles a four-way crossing—hence why this fitting is also known as the "boulevard clamp."
As mentioned earlier, rust resistance is an important quality in chain link fence panels. Non-galvanized steel tends to corrode with time—and with continued exposure to rain—thereby increasing the odds of someone needing a tetanus shot should they bump against your chain link fence. Sporting areas are prone to this, as you have spectators and sometimes players touching the fence on a regular basis. Fortunately, this steel line rail clamp has been galvanized, making it resilient to corroding effects.
