If you've thought about what accessories are needed for building a chain link fence, you need to add Galvanized Steel Tension Bands to the shopping list. This band, absolutely essential to fence building, is used in combination with tension bars (sold separately) to not only attach chain link fence fabric between terminal posts but stretch the fabric so that your fence is rigid and secure. Without this tension, it's very easy for people and animals to crawl under the chain link.

To attach the steel tension bands to your terminal posts (end posts, corner posts, gate posts, etc.), all you need to do is slide the bands over and down the post. Then slide a 5/16" x 1-1/4" bolt (sold separately) through the tangs of each band and tighten. This secures it in place. Space your tension bands apart evenly. From here, slide the tension bar vertically into the bands and simultaneously through the knuckle ends of the fence fabric.

This tension band is galvanized for enhanced rust resistance, making it a long-lasting component of your chain link fence.
