Despite the great strength of chain link fabric, it isn't effective without fittings to secure it to a fence frame. This 2" Square Tension Band [14 Gauge]  has been designed specifically for attaching fabric to corner posts, gates posts, and end posts—making it an essential component in the building of a chain link fence. Used together with tension rods, the band tightens the fabric.

As the name suggests, this band are square in shape: making them ideal for ornamental style fence posts. Being made of galvanized steel provides the band with superior rust resistance. This band is attached using carriage nuts and bolts (sold separately).

  • Made for 2” posts
  • Requires a carriage nut and bolt (not included, item #11170)
  • Galvanized steel

How the part fits? 2”square tension band is designed to fit around a 2-1/2” square terminal post.

Where is it installed? 2” square tension band is installed by sliding over the 2” square terminal post once the post is set. Tension bands will be evenly placed on each terminal post.

How many do you need? You will need 2” tension bands for every stretch of fence. The amount of tension bands you will need per square terminal post is 1 less than the height of the fence. For example, if you have a 4’ fence you will need (3) 2” square tension bands per terminal post. There are two exceptions, if you have a 3’ or 3-1/2’ fence, you will need (3) 2” square tension bands. For a full stretch of fence from terminal post to terminal post, you will need double the amount. Ex: For a stretch 4’ fence you will need (6) total 2” square tension bands.
